Associations between changes in loading pattern, deformity, and internal stresses at the foot with hammer toe during walking; a finite element approach

چکیده

Over the past decade, Finite Element (FE) modelling has been used as a method to understand internal stresses within diabetic foot. Foot deformities such hammer toe have associated with increased risk of foot ulcers in patients. Hence aim this study is investigate influence deformity on during walking. A 3D finite element model human was constructed based capturing Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) neuropathic volunteer exhibiting toe. gait measurements and multi-body musculoskeletal for same participant were define muscle forces. FE simulations run at five different instances stance phase gait. Peak plantar pressure distribution results calculated from showed good agreement experimental measurement having less than 11% errors. Maximum von Mises forefoot hard tissue observed 3rd 5th metatarsals 4th proximal phalanx. Moreover, presence found shift location maximum soft by changing centre stress 1.64 times greater pressure. Hammer also reduce involvement first phalanx internal/external load-bearing The findings support association between changes loading pattern, deformity, that lead ulceration.

A Dynamic Finite Element Analysis of Human Foot Complex in the Sagittal Plane during Level Walking

The objective of this study is to develop a computational framework for investigating the dynamic behavior and the internal loading conditions of the human foot complex during locomotion. A subject-specific dynamic finite element model in the sagittal plane was constructed based on anatomical structures segmented from medical CT scan images. Three-dimensional gait measurements were conducted to...

Assessment of the diabetic foot using spiral computed tomography imaging and plantar pressure measurements: a technical report.

Persons with diabetes mellitus (DM) and peripheral neuropathy are at high risk for skin breakdown due to unnoticed excessive pressures to the plantar foot during walking. We developed methods that combined spiral x-ray computed tomography (SXCT) imaging and plantar pressure analysis to quantify internal foot structure and external pressure during plantar loading. Methods were tested using a sub...

Finite Element Simulations of Internal Stresses Generated During the Ferroelastic Deformation of NiTi Bodies

The aim of this paper is to analyse the generation of internal stresses during the predeformation of NiTi shape memory alloys in the martensitic state. This allows to determine the initial stress state in which the material will transform during the shape memory effect due to heating coilsecutively to this prestrain. In that way a three-dimensional finite element model of the deformation of sha...
